21ST SEPTEMBER 2022 KACK VISIT TO STAR OF HOPE FOUNDATION
On the 21st September 2022, KOICA Alumni Kenya Chapter (KAKC) visited star of hope education center
situated in Bungoma County, Chebukuyi location. The KAKC team was represented by three Alumni
members: Siddy Jepkirui (Executive Chair), Dr. Jacob Odipo (Treasurer) and Rose Wakasa (Deputy
Treasurer). Madam Aidah, Miss Han, Miss Jiun, Mr. Moses and Mr. Changwon Lee represented KOICA
Kenya office.
The purpose of the visit was to donate Water tanks to facilitate hand hygiene by availing sufficient
capacity water storage. The storage facility will be able to serve 425 students and 1850 Chebuyi
community members. Sanitary towels were also donated to girls at Start of Hope education center and
Chebukuyi primary school.

All the key stakeholders attended the meeting: The area chief representing the national government, the
County government of Bungoma officers led by the Deputy governor, department for water and
economic planning. The boards of Star of Hope education center and Chebukuyi primary school’s
teachers and most importantly pupils, the primary beneficiaries of the project.
