KAKC Members Sensitized on the Constitution and Formation of Subgroups

The KOICA Alumni Kenya Chapter (KAKC) held a successful sensitization session on the KAKC Constitution and the formation of subgroups on 29 August 2025 in Nairobi – Kenya, bringing together 21 alumni members alongside five members of the Executive Committee. The session aimed to enhance members’ understanding of the Chapter’s governance framework and promote more inclusive and effective participation across regions.

During the session, participants were taken through key provisions of the KAKC Constitution, including the formation and role of the KAKC Council and the establishment of subgroups. The subgroups are designed to strengthen engagement at the regional level by improving communication with members, coordinating local activities, and facilitating broader participation in KAKC’s programs.

Through these subgroups, members will also have an opportunity to propose regional initiatives, mobilize resources, and contribute ideas for inclusion in the annual KAKC activity plan. This structure is expected to foster ownership, inclusivity, and stronger collaboration among alumni across the country.

Election of Nairobi Subgroup Officials

As part of the day’s activities, elections for the Nairobi Subgroup officials were held under the supervision of an independent observer to ensure transparency and fairness. The following officials were duly elected to lead the Nairobi Subgroup:

  • Chairperson: Anne Ndolo
  • Secretary: Job Nyambane
  • Organising Secretary: John Gathatwa

The newly elected team will be instrumental in coordinating KAKC activities within the Nairobi region and ensuring effective communication between members and the National Executive Committee.

The sensitization and election exercise marked an important step toward strengthening KAKC’s organizational structure and ensuring that alumni voices are well-represented across all regions. The Chapter remains committed to fostering active participation, accountability, and unity among all KOICA-trained professionals in Kenya
